“Hike to the Station”

What a wonderful time we had Saturday on the first Tollgate Village “Hike to the Station”.  Over forty people joined the walk along with a couple of four legged friends.  The mayor, two aldermen, as well as the chairman of the Park commission, joined us for the walk.  They provided information on plans for the park, as well as information on the Civil War Battle of Thompson’s Station.  Who knew that we were walking where soldiers walked during that battle.

On the return walk, several brave souls broke off with Jim Van Vleet, the Park Commission chairman, and walked a new trail that is under construction.  It was magnificent walking through deep woods filled with history.  Completion is expected within the next month.  This trail will be an incredible walk through the woods for anyone who wants to have a close relationship with nature.

Tollgate Village is so fortunate to have the trail head right here in our neighborhood.  If you haven’t walked the trail, we encourage you to get out and see the incredible amenity that the town of Thompson’s Station has provided.

Meanwhile, we hope to have many  more participants next year in our “Hike to the Station”.
