Tuesday night the Thompson’s Station Board of Mayor and Alderman approved rezoning the front of Tollgate Village to enable town homes and condominiums to be constructed as described by Dave McGowan of Regents Homes. There is still a lot of work to be done before construction starts but this vote enables Regents to move to the next step with site plans and renderings for approval by the planning commission. Keep in mind that the commercial development is approved, and work is underway securing tenants. Construction is expected to start in the fall.
Informing Tollgate residents on this project was the focus of the TAC supported meetings and emails. Our goal was, and remains, to carry forward the voice of Tollgate residents. Based upon the positive comments and votes in favor of approval for these changes to the zoning, it was clear that majority of Tollgate residents were in favor this project. TAC has spoken at every Board of Mayor and Aldermen and Planning Commission meeting since January expressing Tollgate Village residents’ support for this project. Below is the video of the portion of the meeting pertaining to the Tollgate vote.
